This stately Daimler 420 was initially supplied new by Stratstone Jaguar London in 1967 it was taken back in part exchange 3 years later and sold again to an American who after working in London returned home to Tucson Arizona and took the Daimler with him where it remained for the next 40 years. It was repatriated in 2014 with its original large history folder containing the Stratstone original invoice as well as many bills and invoices from the U.S. This luxurious saloon uses Jaguars 4.2-litre straight-six XK engine, mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and has factory power steering making it a joy to drive. It has been extensively improved by the most recent keeper of 9 years who we have been told has spent approximately 25k over the course of their ownership bringing it to the car you see today, this included stripping everything out and sending the bodyshell to a professional garage to for renovations, new brakes were fitted along with a stainless-steel exhaust. The undersides and engine bay have been repainted three years ago, the Webasto sunroof replaced by RS Sunroofs in Kent, and a full new leather interior installed including seats and door cards, during 2023 alone over 6k was spent at I.K Classics with some invoices on file. Sitting on refurbished wire wheels and presenting very well with a solid chassis, this Daimler is ready to be enjoyed in new hands. Running and driving very well with a strong engine, smooth gearbox and power steering it is a car that is very competent in modern traffic and will grace any show ground or classic car rally.
