1986 Daimler Double Six Automatic. Solent Blue with Magnolia leather upholstery. The Jaguar XJ Series and its Daimler counterparts were introduced in 1968. Some four years into production the 12-cylinder 5.3-litre XJ was offered for the first time, the Series 1, 2 and 3 Daimler versions of which were dubbed the Double-Six; thereby reviving the famous Daimler model name of the vintage era. While the first generation of six-cylinder XJ models was replaced by the long-awaited all new XJ40 in 1986, the Double-Six continued unchanged until 1993. This V12 has had many thousands of pounds spent recently which consists of bodywork restoration including new inner and outer sills on both sides, repairs to front and rear windscreen surrounds, new rear wheel arches both sides, and repairs to rust in the inner wings and boot floor, all carried out by a professional body shop, documented in photographs and all invoices on file. New tyres recently fitted. New headlining. Front brakes, steering rack, and exhaust has been replaced with all invoices available. Presenting very well and driving lovely the 12 cylinder engine is very smooth and the car oozes comfort and luxury. With an MOT through to May 2025 the Daimler is ready for its next adventure and looking forward a new home. Having covered just 106,000 miles in its 38 years it still has lots to give on enjoyable road trips either local or further afield. Absolutely any inspection welcome.
